Though no draft-night trades came to fruition last week, GM Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings have been plenty busy in recent days.
The biggest splash thus far came Saturday, adding free agent forward J.T. Compher on a five-year deal, reportedly worth $5 million a year.
The left winger is coming off a career-high 52 points with Colorado, a year removed from helping the Avalanche win their first Stanley Cup in more than 20 years. Compher put up a career-high 18 goals in the regular season and had eight in the playoffs.
Compher, 28, will be reuniting in Detroit with two former University of Michigan teammates, centers Dylan Larkin and Andrew Copp.
The Wings also added Daniel Sprong on the first day of free agency. Sprong, 26, just turned in the best season of his career, putting up 21 goals and 25 assists for the Seattle Kraken.
On Sunday Detroit reportedly signed Christian Fischer from Arizona, where he put up 27 points last season.
Other additions include defensemen Justin Holl and Shayne Gostisbehere, as well as goaltenders James Reimer and Alex Lyon.
