If acting like an absolute lunatic, binge drinking, choreographed violence and eating a terrible diet is a measure of high intelligence then perhaps Western New York is the epicenter of elevated thinking.

According to research compiled by Gambling.com, the Buffalo Bills have the smartest fanbase in the NFL. That is not a misprint. The Bills Mafia rates as the smartest group of fans via the compiled education levels of social media followers. The same people who engage in raucous behavior like chugging whiskey from bowling balls, eating food off of rusted car hoods and smashing friends and family through tables, are the sharpest of all football fans. Granted, most people wouldn’t necessarily equate NFL fanaticism with intelligence, and the social media system might not be the fairest metric for gauging every fanbase’s intellect…but then again after a few hours in every fanbase’s tailgate or stadium on gameday who among us would feel as though we’re at a MENSA meeting?
Bills fans topped the charts, followed by Cleveland Browns fans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans and Kansas City Chiefs fans.
For the record, Patriots fans finished 23rd, a poor showing for an area rife with some of the finest school systems and higher education facilities.
Looks like the Pats will be chasing the Bills once again for another top spot this season.
