March 13, 2019 NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport has reported that the Los Angeles Chargers agreed to a two-year deal with quarterback Tyrod Taylor, to back up veteran Phillip Rivers.

March 13, 2019 Last season, the Chargers had Geno Smith and Cardale Jones in the supporting role to Rivers, but the Taylor sign is a huge upgrade for what was a Chargers need going into this year's offseason. The sign, however does not solve the eventual problem of who will replace Rivers when he eventually retires, so the Chargers may in fact still be in the market for a young developmental backup.
Taylor is familiar with some of the Chargers personnel, in particular Head Coach Anthony Lynn, who spent time with Taylor in Buffalo. He has started 46 games over the previous four seasons with Buffalo and Cleveland before being replaced by Baker Mayfield in Cleveland last season. Taylor gives the Chargers a top of the line backup for a starter in Rivers who has not missed a start since taking over in 2006.

March 13, 2019 The Chargers picked up a quarterback but lost a receiver, as Adam Schefter reports that Tyrell Williams will now be dawning the silver and black up the coast of California. He will join a now more experienced receiving core that includes Antonio Brown, which should help a struggling Derek Carr.
The Raiders have been really active so far this offseason after trading for Antonio Brown, they also signed offensive tackle Trent Brown from the New England Patriots who should help bolster their offensive line.
