The Padres came up big in extra innings Saturday to beat the Washington Nationals by a score of 8-3. The win was the 5th straight for the Padres as they continue to sit only half a game behind the Dodgers in the NL West standings. Hunter Renfroe picked up right where he left off yesterday when he homered in the top of the 9th inning, as he hit another in his first at bat of todays game to give the Padres a two run lead in the 2nd inning.

— FOX Sports San Diego (@FOXSportsSD) April 27, 2019Padres starter Eric Lauer looked to be in control until a rocky sixth inning where he struggled with his command and ultimately surrendered a 2 run game-tying home run to Juan Soto. The score would remain knotted up until a wild top of the 10th inning that took nearly 45 minutes (thanks to some lengthy replay reviews) and saw the Padres score 6 runs. With the save opportunity no longer a concern, the Padres brought in Robbie Erlin to close out the game and give the Padres the series victory.
The Padres are back in action early tommorow morning on getaway day, as the pregame show with Chris Ello gets underway at 9:30 AM, and Ted Leitner and Jesse Agler have the call starting at 10:30 AM.
