By Ron Davis:
The Padres picked up a second consecutive win Tuesday night as they took down the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 at Petco Park. Padres left-hander Matt Strahm pitched efficently over his 6 innings of work, throwing only 69 pitches on the night while allowing no walks and striking out 2. The only real blemishes on the night for Strahm were the 2 pitches he left over the middle of the plate that turned in to solo home runs for Eduardo Escobar and John Ryan Murphy, but he was effective overall as he only allowed 4 hits before being replaced by pinch hitter Greg Garcia in the bottom of the 6th.
Much like the night before, the Padres offense picked up their starting pitcher in the bottom of the 6th as Manny Machado lined a single to centerfield to score Ian Kinsler to start the late rally
