Rich Paul, the agent for New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis, told the Pelicans organization that his client will not resign with the team when his contract runs out at the end of the 2019-2020 season. Rich Paul also happens to be the agent for Lebron James.
In my opinion, Davis is one of the five best players in the NBA and is young enough to play at a very high level for the next decade barring a major injury. Davis is in his 7th NBA season, and is still only 25 years old, turning 26 on March 11th.
The reports say that the Lakers would have to send Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Ivica Zubac and a first-round draft pick to the Pelicans. I love Kuzma and he has become a star player for the Lakers, especially since Lebron has been out with the groin injury. Lonzo Ball is out 4 to 6 weeks with a grade 3 left ankle sprain. If I were Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka, I would try every possible way not to include Lonzo in the trade proposal. You need to have someone who can get the ball to an aging Lebron James and into the post to Davis.
Zubac continues to get better with more playing time, and a trade sending him to New Orleans would be great for him to continue enhancing his game. Remember, he’s not turning 22 until March 18th. I see no problem at all sending a number one pick to New Orleans. In fact, I would send them two number one picks if I could keep Ball. You also have Brandon Ingram or Josh Hart to dangle as well. Can the Lakers get this done before the February 7th trading deadline?
Roger Goodell - Hopefully in his State of the NFL address in Atlanta he will make his first public statement on the officiating blunders In the NFC Championship game. Very disappointing to this point.
Jalen McDaniels - San Diego State Basketball - Named Mountain West Conference Player for the second straight week. Tremendous ability and starting to get more consistent. This Aztec team has been up and down all season long and have been very frustrating to watch. They have talent and if they keep working hard and play together they could still do some real damage come conference tournament time.
My Pick for Super Bowl LIII:
Rams 31-27 over the Patriots
Have a super week and enjoy the Big Game. Coach Kentera
