Super Bowl LIII did not live up to what we all thought it would be: a high scoring “throw it all over the place” type game. I have to say after watching the NFL this season and all the ridiculous point totals and a record number of penalties called, I really did enjoy a game with great defense. I was pulling for the Rams to win and it just wasn’t in the cards. What the Patriots have done is absolutely amazing and they continue to do it without the most talented roster in the league. Head coach Bill Belichick always gets the most out of his squad, and most of the time they are not big name players. Belichick became the oldest head coach to win a Super Bowl at 66 years old. I am sure once again next season, if New England drops a couple of games early in the season, everyone will say the dynasty is over and Tom Brady should retire.
The Alliance of American Football opens up this coming weekend. The San Diego Fleet open on the road against the San Antonio Commanders at the Alamodome. The San Antonio squad is coached by former Chargers head coach Mike Riley. The Fleet will open their home schedule Sunday February 17th at SDCCU Stadium, when they the host the Atlanta Legends. I am very anxious to see how this new league works. They have a lot of good things in place. I wish the league and the Fleet the best of luck.
