Eric Hosmer had a pair of key RBI singles and Manny Machado had one key two-RBI single as the San Diego Padres rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday for their 13th-win in their last 15 games.

San Diego (28-22) trailed 3-0 at the end of the first inning. But Hosmer got the Padres closer with RBI singles in the fourth and again in the seventh. Francisco Mejia’s RBI single, also in the seventh, tied the game and set up Machado’s two-out, two-run base hit that broke the tie.

Drew Pomeranz, the second of five San Diego pitchers, pitched a scoreless sixth inning in relief of Zach Davies to pick up the win. Kirby Yates finished up to nail down his 13th save. Davies gave up three runs in five innings of work, all in the first.

Matt Joyce, who had four of Miami’s 11 hits, drove in the first two runs of the game with a single, and Jorge Alfaro followed with an RBI hit. The Padres rallied from there, going ahead 6-3 with their five-run rally in seventh. Brian Anderson hit a solo home run for Miami in the bottom of the seventh to account for the final score.
