Kershaw allowed only four hits and one unearned run, while striking out a season-high 15 batters. He walked two and also hit a batter, but was in complete command after home runs by Joc Pederson and Enrique Hernandez gave him a five-run lead in the third inning.
Cory Seager opened the game with a home run off loser Dinelson Lamet, who gave up three long balls and fell to 1-5 on the season. Tommy Pham reached on an error by Hernandez in the bottom of the first and scored the tying run on Fernando Tatis Jr.’s two-out single.
Los Angeles broke it open in the third with two outs. A Mookie Betts double scored Max Muncy from first base to break the tie and was followed by a Cody Bellinger RBI double. Pederson then hit a two-run shot off Lamet, followed immediately by Hernandez’s solo blast.
