Well, this weekend was one for the ages for Padres baseball.  I have seen many high scoring affairs over the years, but they were usually followed by a low scoring game the next day.  My dad used to call me during some of those games and tell me "tell them to save some of those runs for tomorrow." Apparently there were enough runs to go around at Coors Field for four games of high octane baseball.

Think about that: this is over 22 comgined runs a game on average for the four game set.

Every game in the Rockies-Padres series looked like a dang football score:• Rockies win 9-6• Padres win 16-12• Rockies win 14-8• Padres win 14-13That's 92 combined runs, the most in a 4-game series EVER pic.twitter.com/E5VAqjPxOe

I am not sure how anyone was able to keep score for this one

The record for most runs scored in a 4-game series is 88, set by the Phillies and Dodgers in May 1929. The Padres and Rockies are at 81, with 7 innings to play.

Let's put this in perspective: two teams combined took a month to drive in what we saw in four days.

The #Royals and #Tigers have combined to score 90 runs this month. The #Rockies and #Padres just combined to score 92 runs in one series.#Coors!

Final Total 9th inning or later of runs scored = 16

There were 77 runs scored in #Padres-#Rockies 3-game series with #Padres scoring 15 runs in the 9th inning or later to win series

Even the last run on Sunday was some kind of record setter.

The Padres came back from a 3-run deficit in the 9th inning to win 14-13 vs the Rockies today.According to @EliasSports this was the first time in Padres history they have overcome a 3-run deficit in the 9th inning or later multiple times in a series. pic.twitter.com/8GKxHGmuok

What else can you say?

It proves that no matter what ... you never know what you are going to see at a baseball game.  That is why they play every day.
