Padres rookie starter is coming off of his best performance as a pro, hurling 7 shutout innings against the Rockies last week, while striking out 5 and walking none. Quantrill's ERA heading into Wednesday's start is 3.21, which is second-lowest among all rookie starters who have thrown at least 70 innings this season. It looks like Quantrill is making a serious case to be a part of the Padres' 2020 starting rotation.
