#17 Aztecs Fall to BYU

After winning their season opener earlier in the week, the #17 San Diego State Aztecs fell 74-65 to the BYU Cougars on Friday evening in Provo, Utah.

The Aztecs started the game on a 7-0 run, but found themselves trailing 33-28 at halftime.

San Diego State had a 50-48 lead with 8:40 left, but BYU outscored the Aztecs 26-15 during the remainder of the second half.

BYU's bench played a major factor in the contest, outscoring the Aztecs' bench 42-9. The Cougars were also +10 in rebounding margin.

Jaedon LeDee led the Aztecs with 21 points and seven rebounds, his second double-double in as many games to begin the season. Reese Waters also scored 15 points.

Dallin Hall led the Cougars with 18 points, including four made three-pointers.

San Diego State continues the team's non-conference schedule against Long Beach State on Tuesday evening at Viejas Arena. Opening tip is at 7 p.m.
