Tuesday marked Day 2 at the 86th National Baseball Congress World Series, with a five-game slate; the action ended shortly after midnight in Hutchinson.

The first team eliminated from the tournament was Houston MVP, after dropping an afternoon loser's-bracket game in Hutchinson.

The other four games featured the winner's bracket quarterfinals; those winners were the Liberal Bee Jays, the Cheney Diamond Dawgs, the Hays Larks, and the Santa Barbara Foresters. All four of those teams have today off, advancing to Thursday's winner's bracket semifinals.

Day 3 of competition Wednesday in the double-elimination tournament will see four elimination games, whittling the field down to eight teams.
