ST. LOUIS - Adam Wainwright did something that no one believed to be possible - he beat Twitter. After scouring days of mentions of the St. Louis Cardinals ace, there's not a single negative tweet to be found about his performance as an analyst during the White Sox/Astros ALDS.
Impossible, I know.

There may never have been – nor will there be again – a TV baseball broadcaster that's more universally liked, appreciated and celebrated like Waino has been the past few days. He worked the booth with ex-big leaguer AJ Pierzynski (who was his Cardinals teammate in 2014) and Fox's Adam Amin.
A quick search of "Wainwright" on Twitter will lead you to hours of respect and admiration the likes of which is rarely found on the social media site. Here are some of the best tweets:
Wainwright will be back with the Cardinals on a one-year deal in 2022. He said it's "very likely" going to be his final season, but there's no guarantee. As for a career in broadcasting afterwards, he told the New York Post that's probably not going to happen.
“It would be a fun way to stay in the game,” Wainwright said. “I’m not looking to have an everyday job that takes me away from my family again.”
But he sure would be a joy in any broadcast booth. Just look at how much fun he was having:
