The Boston Red Sox outfielder, along with pitcher Kutter Crawford, joined a group of kids in sitting on a piece of cardboard and sliding down a hill behind the main field at Williamsport on Sunday, but it did not quite go according to plan.

As Verdugo made his way down he began to tip over and started sliding off his piece of cardboard before he decided to just abandon ship and jump up. And run down the hill instead.

Crawford, who seemed to have a more elaborate piece of cardboard that prevented his front feet from touching the ground, had a much smoother ride down.

The Red Sox were in Williamsport on Sunday where they were taking on the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday Night Baseball as part of a new tradition where both big and little leaguers share the stage.

Based on how the Red Sox season has gone, Boston is probably lucky he escaped the activity with no injury.
