Former NFL player Zac Stacy has told police that the brutal attack caught on video towards his ex-girlfriend was all 'staged,' claiming she had come up with the whole thing because she was 'bitter' about him not being interested in her romantically anymore.

The conversation between Stacy and police was captured on a video that was obtained by TMZ -- just a few days after he ruthlessly beat his ex up at her Florida home.
In the arrest footage, the former running back is heard speaking with Orlando Police Dept. officers for several minutes about his description of the events that lead up to the attack on Nov. 13.
"It's just a case of just bitterness, man," Stacy told the policemen. "That's why she did this. The whole assault thing, she staged it. She set me up."
Stacy continues, "The whole thing was staged. All she's trying to do is get money out of me. She got a reaction out of me." Stacy then admits that he had just gotten out of rehab for anxiety and depression, and knowing this, she used that as an excuse to get "a reaction" out of Stacy.
"She knew I was down, she knew I was going through anxiety and depression," Stacy said. "She knew I was trying to close this gap that's between me and my son and she's just upset that she got caught and she's upset I'm not taking care of him like she expected. And now she took it this far. This is just a case of just girl is just bitter that I don't want to be with her and she's just trying to destroy my whole reputation 'cause of this s***."
Kristin Evans, Stacy's ex-girlfriend and mother to his son, vehemently denies Stacy's claim that she "staged" the attack.
"I don't know how you can stage getting your ass beat," Evans said in response to Stacy's claim.
Evans added, "This is what abusers do. They will make you seem like you're the crazy one and that they're the victim." Stacy admits to officers that his actions were 'f****d up.'
"I don't know what man -- how any man could have handled that situation," Stacy said.
The 30-year-old former Jet and Ram was taken to a local police station and booked on charges of felony aggravated battery and felony criminal mischief. Stacy is currently released on bond.
