The bad news for the New York Jets is that star rookie running back Breece Hall is out for the season with a torn left ACL.

However, don't expect what's turned into a top-notch rushing attack to fall off a cliff, as the Jets acquired James Robinson in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Joe Douglas and the Jets sent a conditional sixth-round pick back to Jacksonville, which can become a fifth-round pick. It's not immediately clear what circumstances would lead to the pick becoming a fifth-rounder for the Jaguars.

In his return from an achilles tear, Robinson was very effective as the lead back to begin the season. But he's been phased out in recent weeks by the Jaguars as former first-round pick Travis Etienne has begun to emerge as a star.

Still, Robinson was undrafted and ended up rushing for over 2,100 yards in parts of three seasons for the Jaguars. He's only 24, and will become a restricted free agent this offseason. So it's entirely possible he becomes a mainstay with the Jets. If not, they'll likely get compensation in return for his services.

Robert Saleh and Mike LaFleur still also have second-year back Michael Carter at their disposal, as they look to build on a 5-2 start.
