Julian Edelman is Foxboro Forever.

The beloved ex-Patriot made his return Friday to “The Greg Hill Show,” and said he can’t imagine playing anywhere but New England.

“Honestly, realistically, no. I can’t see myself playing anywhere else. That’s how I feel right now,” he said.

Edelman has increasingly talked about a comeback in recent months, saying in June his body “feels pretty straight” after taking a year off.

On Friday, he was coy when asked whether he’s preparing for an NFL return return.

“Who doesn’t like to throw on the ol’ boot and get on a field and catch a couple of footballs?,” Edelman said. I love doing that. I love this game.”

Right …

In that same June interview, Edelman added he would “probably” only come back as a member of the Patriots. Last month, Edelman didn't shut the door on a midseason return.

"I’ll tell you right now, if I had three weeks, three maybe four weeks, start of the season, absolutely not," Edelman told Rich Eisen. “But if there’s a team vying for a playoff run, guy goes down, could I get ready? I mean, I probably could.”

Bill Belichick, in a recent appearance of his own on “The Greg Hill Show,” said he stays in regular contact with Edelman — for what that’s worth.

Edelman retired at the end of the 2020 season following a slew of nagging knee injuries. In an interview last week with Chris Long, Edelman said he feels stronger now than at the end of his playing career.

“I’ve had some downtime. My body feels good,” he said. “There’s some deficiencies here and there, but I feel extremely better than I did the last year-and-a-half of my career.”

Though Tyquan Thornton currently wears No. 11, he's on Injured Reserve. It shouldn't be that hard to orchestrate some sort of trade, right?
