As he prepares to be the color commentator for FOX's coverage of the Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, Mark Sanchez caught a stray from Rex Ryan, his former head coach with the New York Jets.

Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Ryan was critical of how Denver Broncos' head coach Nathaniel Hackett managed the final minutes of Monday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, pointing out how good Russell Wilson is at the expense of Sanchez:

It felt like an unnecessary jab at Sanchez, who Ryan hasn't coached in 10 years. And while no one is going to suggest that Sanchez lived up to being the No. 5 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, his eight seasons in the NFL were probably more productive than he's given credit for. Heck, the Jets were led by incredible defensive units in Sanchez's first two NFL seasons, but he still was the quarterback as the team reached the AFC Championship in consecutive years.
