JJ Redick announces his retirement from NBA

37-year-old shooting guard JJ Redick has announced his retirement from the NBA. Redick made the announced on his The Old Man and the Three podcast.

Redick chronicled his basketball playing life on the episode, expressing, "It is time for me to be a dad, it's time for me to reflect, pause, and it's time for me to get ready for the next phase of my life."

Redick, one of the game's greatest shooter of all-time shooting 41.5-percent from three-point range on 5.0 attempts per game for his career, played for the Philadelphia 76ers for two seasons from 2017-2019.

In those seasons, Redick averaged 17.1 and 18.1 points per game, his top two scoring seasons of his career.

Redick most recently spent time with the Dallas Mavericks, joining them in the trade that sent James Johnson and Wes Iwundu to New Orleans. He also played with the Clippers, Bucks, and Magic.
