Russell Westbrook is in a league of his own.
The Washington Wizards point guard passed Oscar Robertson to become the all-time leader with 182 career triple-doubles.
Westbrook broke the 47-year-old record with a defensive rebound in the fourth quarter in a 125-124 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night.
He finished with 29 points, 21 assists and 13 rebounds for his 36th triple-double this season.
The 32-year-old is averaging a triple-double this season — the fourth time in his career — but with three games remaining he will not be able to break his own single-season record of 42 triple-doubles he set in 2016-17.
Westbrook tied Robertson’s record with 33 points, 19 rebounds and 15 assists against the Pacers on Saturday and a week earlier, he became the first player to have two 10-20-20 career triple-doubles, something that had only been done before by Wilt Chamberlain once.
His accomplishment is also the first time an all-time NBA record has been broken since Ray Allen passed Reggie Miller on the all-time 3-point scoring list in 2011.
