Cowboys assistant defensive line coach Leon Lett was carted off the field after suffering an apparent right leg injury at team practice on Wednesday.

The extent of the injury and how it occurred were unclear. Lett was undergoing testing after practice, and was put on crutches to reach the team medical facility from the cart, according to multiple reports.

The longtime assistant coach joined the defensive staff in 2011. Before transitioning into coaching, Lett, now 52, was a fixture on the Cowboys' defensive line.

The two-time Pro Bowler won three Super Bowls with Dallas during their early-90s run of dominance, though he is perhaps best remembered for being chased down and stripped by Bills wide receiver Don Beebe in Super Bowl XXVIII, and for a botched recovery of a blocked field goal on Thanksgiving in 1993.
