On Monday night, the 76ers decided to give Joel Embiid his first rest of the season — a well-deserved rest, I might add — which inevitably put them in a tough spot against the Blazers. An unforeseen absence, however, will make it even more difficult for the Sixers to come out of Monday night with a win, and unfortunately, it's an absence that will last for an indefinite period of time.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Harris will likely miss several games after landing in the NBA's health and safety protocols.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the team should know more about his exact timetable for a return within the next day or so. Furkan Korkmaz is starting in his place on Monday night and could continue to do so going forward, though Matisse Thybulle and Georges Niang should also see bumps in their minutes.

Harris leads the team in minutes per game (33.0), rebounds per game (9.0) and assists per game (4.2) to this point in the season, and isn't far behind of Joel Embiid (21.0 points per game) in the scoring department, with 19.8 PPG.

If Harris tests positive, he could be sidelined for at least 10 days, as Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer notes. Harris is vaccinated, Pompey added.
