The Padres won a hard-fought game 1-0 against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday night. Nick Pivetta was dealing, as he struck out 7 and allowed just 2 hits over 5.2 innings. The Padres flashed their leather throughout the evening, with Jackson Merrill and Fernando Tatis Jr. each robbing home runs. Meanwhile, an unlikely power source supplied the game's lone run, when Luis Arraez broke the 0-0 tie with a solo blast off of Merrill Kelly in the bottom of the 7th inning. On the same day that Robert Suarez was named to the NL All-Star team as a replacement, he earned his MLB-leading 26th save. Dylan Cease will start on Wednesday against Brandon Pfaadt.
