The formula that worked so well last week looked like it could work again on Tuesday, when Bradgley Rodriguez opened for Matt Waldron, and pitched a perfect 1-2-3 inning, needing just 11 pitches to get through the top of Milwaukee's lineup. But that where Tuesday's game went in a different direction than last week when Matt Waldron piggybacked and allowed just one run in five innings. On this night, Waldron allowed six earned runs on eight hits and two walks in just 2.2 innings of work. Nick Castellanos continued his hot-hitting ways, driving in two runs in the 4th inning to put the Padres on top 2-1. But the Brewers responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame to put them on top for good. With Lucas Giolito needing to be promoted to the Majors this weekend, the Padres have a looming decision to make on whose spot he will take in the starting rotation.
