Baseball America released its list of Top 100 prospects for the 2023 season, and two Padres prospects made the list: SS Jackson Merrill (#22) and RHP Dylan Lesko (#69). The Padres in previous years had built up their farm system, but traded many of their top prospects to build up the Major League roster. Baseball America also ranked two players the Padres traded to Washington in the package for Juan Soto: OF James Wood (#11) and OF Robert Hassell III (#57) among their top 100 prospects.
