The Padres beat the Guardians 7-0 on Saturday, putting forth one of their most complete efforts of the season. Dylan Cease was brilliant, striking out 10 while allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk over 7 scoreless innings. The Padres' offense did all of their damage in two innings. With the bases loaded in the 4th inning, Luis Campusano ripped an RBI-single, Luis Arraez drew a walk, and Jake Cronenworth was hit by a pitch, giving the Padres a 3-0 lead. That score held until the 8th inning, when the Padres got home runs from David Peralta and Jake Cronenworth, and another RBI-single from Campusano, which allowed the Padres to avoid using closer Robert Suarez. The Padres can win the series with a victory on Sunday.
