The Padres lost to the Giants 8-3 on Friday night, wasting a night where Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. combined to hit three home runs. The problem was that each one was a solo shot. Joe Musgrove didn't have his best stuff, as he allowed 8 hits and 4 earned runs in just 5.2 innings. The Padres trailed by 3 runs entering the 9th inning, but Matt Chapman hit an upper deck 2-run homer towards the top of the Western Metal Building to put the game away. Chapman single-handedly beat led San Francisco to a win, blasting 2 home runs and driving in 5 RBIs. Dylan Cease will make his Padres debut on Saturday weather permitting.
