Mike Clevinger to undergo Tommy John surgery

Clevinger also signed a two-year contract with the Padres

The Padres announced that RHP Mike Clevinger will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair his UCL. Clevinger is expected to miss the entire 2021 season. The team also announced that they've signed Clevinger to a two-year contract, wiping out his remaining arbitration years. Clevinger started 4 games during the regular season for the Padres, striking out 19 hitters in 19 innings with a 2.84 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP.
