The Padres defeated the Blue Jays 2-0 on Wednesday, thanks to another quality start from their starting rotation and a clutch hit from Manny Machado. Yu Darvish struck out 7 over 6 shutout innings, notching the Padres' NL-best 45th quality start of the season. Just one day after the Padres belted four home runs, their only runs in this game came on a broken bat blooper from Manny Machado in the 5th inning, but the bullpen was able to protect the lead, and give the Padres an opportunity to sweep the Blue Jays on Thursday morning.
