The Padres bounced back with a 7-3 victory over the Giants on Friday night, thanks to another quality start from Michael Wacha and the offense tallying 7 runs on 13 hits. Michael Wacha allowed just 2 runs in 6 innings, and got out of a bases loaded jam in the 6th, and clearly showed that he's over his shoulder ailment by tossing 108 pitches.

After Wilmer Flores put the Giants on top in the 1st inning with a solo homer, the Padres answered right back, with back-to-back home runs from Fernando Tatis Jr. and Juan Soto. The Padres went 3-8 with runners in scoring position, and built a 7-2 lead entering the 9th inning. Scott Barlow entered the game and things got a bit dicey. After allowing back-to-back singles, Barlow struck out Wade Meckler, before hitting back-to-back hitters to load the bases and bring in a run, which brought the game-tying run to the plate in Wilmer Flores. But Bob Melvin stuck with Barlow, who induced Flores to hit into a game-ending double play. The Padres will send Blake Snell to the mound on Saturday.
