The Padres defeated the Royals 4-3 on Saturday, overcoming an early 3-run deficit. Yu Darvish gave up 3 runs in the 1st inning, but was flawless after that, allowing just those 3 runs over 7 innings. Wil Myers was one of the offensive catalysts for the Padres, hitting a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning to bring the Friars within a run. Manny Machado tied the game an inning later with an RBI-single, and Brandon Drury put the Padres on top for good with an RBI-single of his own in the 3rd.
