The Padres earned a 3-0 win over the Tigers on Monday, as they end their stretch of 18 games in 18 days and head into a day off on Tuesday. Joe Musgrove was fantastic, hurling six scoreless frames and striking out eight Tigers. Fernando Tatis Jr. made his return to the Padres, and played in his first game since June 21st. Tatis went 0-4 in his first game back in action, but will no doubt make a big impact as he gets back into rhythm. Luis Arraez drove in Mason McCoy in the bottom of the 3rd, and that would be the only run of the game until the bottom of the 8th, when Arraez drove in Kyle Higashioka, who led off the inning with a double. Manny Machado would drive in Arraez, to provide a comfortable 3-run cushion for Robert Suarez, who earned his 31st save of the season. Arraez had a hand in all three of the Padres runs, going 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. The Padres are off on Tuesday before playing two more games against the Tigers.
