The Padres' offense bounced back from a disappointing performance on Tuesday night to score 10 runs on 12 hits on Wednesday, beating the Cubs 10-2 and earning their first series win. Four different Padres had multiple hits as the Padres scored multiple runs in four different innings. Jake Cronenworth and Jurickson Profar each hit home runs, and the Friars went 4-12 hitting with runners in scoring position. Meanwhile, Dylan Cease was fantastic, allowing just 2 unearned while striking out 7 in 6 innings of work to earn his first win in brown and gold. The Padres will enjoy a day off on Thursday before facing the Dodgers in L.A. beginning on Friday.
