The Padres avoided being swept by the Red Sox, and put an end to their 4-game losing streak, beating Boston 7-0 on Sunday. Michael Wacha was fantastic, firing 6 shutout innings, while Matt Carpenter and Rougned Odor provided all the offense the Padres would need. Carpenter drew a bases loaded walk in the 1st inning to put the Padres on the board, and added a 2-run home run in the 3rd inning. Odor ripped a bases clearing 3-run double in the 1st inning and added an RBI-double in the 6th inning, as the Padres broke out of their offensive funk. The Padres will now begin a 9-game road trip against the Nationals, Yankees and Marlins.
