The Padres lost to the Twins 7-4 on Saturday. Joe Musgrove delivered another quality start, allowing just 2 runs in 6 innings while striking out 8. It was a tight 2-1 Twins lead heading into the 8th inning, when Carlos Correa hit a 2-run homer. With 2 men on and 1 out, Kyle Garlick hit a chopper to shortstop that could have been an inning ending double play, but Eric Hosmer was unable to field a poor throw from CJ Abrams, leading to a run scoring on that play and the inning continuing. Jose Miranda and Nick Gordon drove in 2 more runs with base hits, extending the score to 7-1. Jurickson Profar narrowed the gap with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 9th, but the Padres ultimately lost 7-4. The Padres will go for the series win on Sunday at 1:10.
