Padres name Yu Darvish Opening Day starter

The Padres have named Yu Darvish as the team's Opening Day starting pitcher. Darvish's 2021 season long stats weren't what Darvish and the team had hoped, but that was mostly due to Darvish battling injuries in the second half of the season. Prior to the All-Star break, Darvish had a 3.09 ERA with 125 strikeouts in 105 innings pitched. Darvish was also named to the All-Star team.
