The Padres again bounced back from a tough loss with a big win, shutting out the Phillies 8-0. Pedro Avila didn't allow a run over 6.2 innings pitched, earning his first career win. Fernando Tatis Jr. kicked off the scoring with a solo homer in the 4th. Xander Bogaerts contributed with a huge night at the plate himself, going 4-4 and scoring 3 runs. Padres fans also caught a glimpse of what they hope is their catcher of the future, with Luis Campusano going 2-4 and scoring 3 runs. All in all, the Padres tallied 10 hits in a game they controlled throughout. The Padres will have a chance to win the series when they send Michael Wacha to the mound on Wednesday.
