The Mariners beat the Padres 6-2 on Tuesday, completing a 2-game sweep of the Padres in San Diego. Mike Clevinger pitched fairly well, but gave up 3 runs in the 4th inning, breaking the 1-1 tie and giving the Mariners a 3-run lead. The story of the game for the Padres were the runners they left on base, 11 in total. Case in point, was when the Padres loaded the bases with no outs in the 2nd inning, and left them all stranded. San Diego's only 2 runs came on an error in the 3rd inning on a grounder to second base that should have been the final out of the inning, and then on a sacrifice fly from CJ Abrams in the 6th. The Padres will have Wednesday off before welcoming the Giants to town for a 4-game series.
