The Padres won their third straight game against the Giants behind another quality start from their rotation. Seth Lugo was magnificent, needing just 89 pitches to shutout the Giants for 6 innings and allowing just 4 baserunners. The Padres scored 3 runs in the 1st inning thanks to a 2-run homer from Juan Soto and an RBI-double by Xander Bogaerts. Manny Machado added a solo blast in the 3rd, and that would be all the Padres would need to hold on for a 4-0 win. The Padres will host the Phillies for a 3-game series beginning on Monday.
