The Pirates beat the Padres 8-4 on Monday night, as Yu Darvish had one of his worst outings of the season, yielding 7 earned runs on 4 long balls in just 4.1 innings pitched. The Padres trailed 8-1 entering the bottom of the 5th, and were able to cross home plate 3 more times, but this game was never really close. The Pirates out-hit the Padres 13-6 in a pitching matchup of Yu Darvish against Quinn Priester, who was making his second career start. The Padres will try to get back on track on Tuesday with Blake Snell on the mound.
