The Padres did it AGAIN, coming from behind to win again as they continue their march towards the playoffs. Yu Darvish struggled in his return to the mound, and the Padres found themselves in a 5-0 hole. Jackson Merrill did what he's done all season long, and blasted a clutch 3-run homer in the 4th inning to pull the Padres to within two runs. Manny Machado tied the game with a 2-run single in the 5th inning, and it was a whole new ball game. The Padres had opportunities to take the lead, as they left the bases loaded 6th and 7th innings. After a battle of the bullpens took the game into extra innings, the Tigers intentionally walked Luis Arraez in the bottom of the 10th with two outs and a runner on second base to get to Fernando Tatis Jr., who immediately made them pay for that decision, driving in Jackson Merrill from second base to win the game. The Padres will go for the sweep on Thursday afternoon.
