Matt Waldron's struggles continued, as he allowed 10 earned runs on 12 hits in just over 4 innings of work against the Twins on Wednesday. Waldron's ERA is now 10.50 over his last 5 starts. Minnesota led 1-0 entering the 4th inning, and then scored 7 runs in the 4th, highlighted by Matt Wallner's 3-run home run to make it 8-0. The Padres would tack on a few runs later, including home runs from Donovan Solano and Jackson Merrill, but it was too little too late, as they dropped the series finale 11-4. The Padres did still win the series two games to one, to begin a new streak of series wins after snapping their 8 series winning streak over the weekend to the Rockies. The Mets arrive to town for a 4-game series at Petco Park beginning on Thursday.
