The Padres defeated the Dodgers in impressive fashion on Friday night, with Walker Buehler pitching well against his former team. The Padres' best start over the past month allowed just one earned run while pitching into the 6th inning, allowing just a solo home run to Mookie Betts in the top of the 2nd inning. The Padres immediately answered back when Ty France blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the frame to put the Padres on top 3-1. That score would hold until the bottom of the 8th, when the Padres rallied for four runs, highlighted by Sung-Mun Song's 2-run single, creating a six run cushion that allowed the Padres to save Mason Miller, who had been warming up. The difference in the game was hitting with runners in scoring position, as the Padres went 4-10 while the Dodgers went 0-4. Randy Vasquez will start for the Padres on Saturday.
