The Padres placed Yu Darvish on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation on Monday, and recalled Matt Waldron to take his spot in the rotation. Darvish is 8-10 with a 4.56 ERA this season, and has especially struggled in his last 3 starts, allowing 13 earned runs in just 16 innings pitched. Darvish signed a 6-year $108 million contract extension prior to the start of the season.
