On a night when San Diego State looked like they may get back to their winning ways, they lost by 3 touchdowns on the road at Boise State. The Aztecs scored the first 13 points of the game, and took a 13-0 lead into the half. Jack Browning connected on two first quarter field goals, and Tyrell Shavers returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. But the Aztecs could only muster 97 yards of total offense in the first half. The passing game continued to be grounded, as Braxton Burmeister was 2-7 for 33 yards in the first half. Burmeister would exit the game after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the 3rd quarter, but the Aztecs would finish with just 33 passing yards and 114 total yards of offense.
Things fell apart for the Aztecs in the 3rd quarter, when the Broncos scored 3 touchdowns en route to 35 unanswered second half points. SDSU's defense couldn't stop the run, as both George Holani and Taylen green rushed for over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Ashton Jeanty added 82 rushing yards and a touchdown of his own. The loss dropped San Diego State to 2-3 on the season. San Diego State's next opponent will be Hawaii on October 8th.
