North Carolina cruised to an easy 95-68 win over San Diego State in the NCAA Tournament's First Four in a game that was never in doubt. Magoon Gwath returned from injury and started for the Aztecs, and scored 9 points while grabbing 5 boards. UNC's offense was just too much though, as they jumped out to a 47-23 lead at the half. SDSU was able to make some adjustments and play more competitively in the second half, only being outscored by 3 points after the half, but it was too late at that point. The Tar Heels shot 52% from the field and an astounding 58% from beyond the arc, while sinking 21 of 24 free throws. UNC dominated SDSU on the defensive boards as well 29-19, which led to twice as many fast break points for the Heels. All in all, it was a night to forget for San Diego State, who concludes their season with a record of 21-10.
