SDFC's magical first season will continue after the expansion club advanced past Minnesota with a 1-0 win at Snapdragon Stadium on Monday night in the conference semifinals. The two teams were locked in a defensive matchup deep into the match. Ian Pilcher made one of the greatest defensive plays you'll ever see to save a goal in the 47th minute, keeping the match tied at 0-0:
Then, in the 72nd minute, who else but Anders Dreyer scored the first goal of the match on an absolute missile from inside the box following a brilliant save by Corey Baird.
San Diego will now face Vancouver on Saturday night at 6 pm at Snapdragon Stadium in the conference finals.
