In today's totally voluntary blog, I'll definitely continue to take a page from my cohost's playbook and just list stuff that I like, except I won't be doing golf courses since I hate golf and am pretty terrible at it.
Despite all that's going on in sports these days with Andy Green getting fired, the NFL and college in full swing, and the MLB playoffs right around the corner, I don't know about you, but I have to make time to enjoy some of life's other passions like movies, music, books, etc.
Here's what's been on my radar lately:
What I'm Watching:
If you're not watching the Righteous Gemstones on HBO, I think you're missing out. Of course, I'd watch Danny McBride and Walt Goggans do anything. After their brilliant show Vice Principals, they've teamed up again, this time with John Goodman, in this dark comedy about the megachurch family, the Gemstones. McBride isn't for everyone, I get it, but there's something about his comedy that has always resonated with me. And based on the Emmy's last night, I need to start watching Fleabag asap. Maybe I'll start tonight.
What I'm Listening To:
I've got a couple of recommendations for ya'll this week. Obviously music is very subjective so it may not be your thing at all. First band is a band from Charleston, SC called Susto (pronounced Soo-stow). Acoustic-y, not really country, but really good. Start with the songs "Ever Since I Lost My Mind' and "Hard Drugs." Also, a local band has been invading my brain for a few months: Doom Bloom. They've got one EP out and it's FANTASTIC. My man John Cooper has found his groove with this band.
What I'm Reading:
Nothing in the queue right now
