Spring has finally sprung! Well, it's trying to, anyway. We've had our fair share of rain (to the point where I've been saying "It can't rain all the time." -The Crow) but on the dry days with the sun shining, all I wanna do is throw responsibility out the window and get outside!! So, in honor of that, this week's list:

5 Things To Do To Celebrate Spring In The Triad!

1. Go For A Hike

This area is full of hiking trails, from beginner to advanced. You can hike on moderately flat land or give it a little more effort with some elevation. Check out Hanging Rock State Park, The Birkhead's Mountain Wilderness in Uwharrie State Park, Triad Park, Salem Lake and of course, Pilot Mountain!

2. Walk through your neighborhood & appreciate the flowers

Nothing puts a smile on your face quicker than seeing the beautiful flowers & trees that seem to have bloomed overnight in the NC spring. There are Daffodils & Crocuses, Azaela & Magnolia bushes, and Dogwood & Crape Myrtle trees. Just don't get too close to that beautiful Bradford Pear tree...pewwwwwwweee!

3. Visit A Brewery

It seems there is a brewery on every corner in the Triad, and each has their own special atmosphere and taste. Most of them have big, open doors and/or a patio, so you can enjoy a cold brew and the weather at the same time! Try Goose & The Monkey Brewhouse in Lexington, Pig Pounder in Greensboro, Wiseman Brewing in Winston Salem, Goofy Foot in High Point, and Kernersville Brewing Company in Kernersville, just to name a few!

4. Visit one of our many tourist attractions

You've always wanted to see the Red Pandas at the Greensboro Science Center, and Spring is the best time to go! Walk the grounds and appreciate the art exhibits at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, take a trip back in time at Old Salem, learn about the eccentric home of Korner's Folly, or say hello to gazelles, elephants, alligators, flamingos and more at the North Carolina Zoo. Spring is the best time to play tourist in the Triad!

5. Relax on your porch & crank up the radio!

It's been a long, hard winter for everyone and you deserve a little sunshine and music to recharge your batteries! It doesn't matter if you've got the perfect patio oasis or a tiny patch of grass...grab a chair, your favorite beverage, and crank up the tunes on 98.7 Simon! Just plug in your radio, tell your smart speaker "Play 987 Simon" or find us on the free Audacy app! Instant mood lifter!!
